Monster Energy Horror!!

I have read an article in Metro news paper today broadcasting a shocker about Monster energy drinks. It has been reported a death toll of 5 as a result of drinking Monster Engery drinks and leading that into disorders or heart failures. It has further reported there are similar death incidents with Red Bull energy drinks as well. Both of these companies are giants in the industry and they are so popular that these shocking news are automatically ignored by their beloved consumers.

As I read through the article which is believed to be from a nation wide trustworthy source, most of those unfortunate incidents have been occured as a result of  high caffeine percentage within these drinks (said by the family and related people of who died). The recent case has arisen the need of awareness of these products and further investigations are under way.

This Prevention is better, than cure, or death..

Skype infecting Windows PCs!

BBC reported that SKYPE has been used by hackers to spread Windows PCs through a worm. If the user clicks on an instant message saying "lol is this your new profile pic?" this would download a trojan horse containing the worm inside it. This can result in a user logout and locked from the machine. Hacker could use this situation for demanding money from the victim to release the computer. Further more the worm will send more "lol" messages to the contact list of the user and in most cases this will probably be opened by the recipient thinking an actual message from the user. That will also result in automatic downloading of the trojan horse file.

Samsung Galaxy Note - Super cool Android phone

The overall look of the mobile phone looks huge when you are comparing with a regular size phone such as HTC Sensation / Samsung Galaxy. I had a chance to play around a bit with this phone and this is a super cool phone. You get used to the size of it quicker than you think because of its attractive UI features and performance. I would not expect much from an android tab if I owe this phone since this is nearly a half smartphone half tablet pc.

Best Job boards for a local job hunter

This is with related to my previous blog on tips in job hunting.(http://dushseven.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/key-points-for-job-hunters.html)

Here I have listed one of the most useful job boards based on my experience which some of you might already know. I have purposely omitted some job boards such as reed.co.uk since the hit rate is far below the expectation. All these boards are quite useful and worthy a daily visit. (The first one is solely for IT)
  1. CW jobs (maintained by Computer Weekly)  - www.cwjobs.co.uk
  2. Jobsite - www.jobsite.co.uk
  3. Monster jobs - www.monster.co.uk
  4. Staffs uni Jobzone - staffs.prospects.ac.uk/index.html
  5. Milkround - www.milkround.com
  6. Brampton Stafford - www.brampton-recruitment-4-graduate-jobs.co.uk/
  7. Graduate Advantage - www.graduateadvantage.co.uk
  8. Grad Central - www.grad-central.co.uk
  9. Total jobs - www.totaljobs.com
  10. Gum tree - www.gumtree.com
Don't forget to upload your best CV on above job boards and make them visible to recruiters. Few boards might not support this such as Staffs job zone but still you can create your profile with your skills and expected area and I found the team behind this is working hard to get visible results. Even you can email to employers directly since some of the above sites directly give employer contact details which is always better.

Key points for job hunters

Fed up of job hunting? Here are some of my experiences of job hunting

Before everything..
First make sure your CV is created with utter concern and according to one of the standards which you can easily find from a google search. (Good article from BCS: http://www.bcs.org/content/conWebDoc/3035) It is all about marketing yourself, promoting yourself but you have to make sure that you don't exaggerate yourself which sometimes ended up representing someone else rather than you. Try to limit your CV to two pages but if you really can not afford your content, feel free to go to the third page. Spend much time and revisions as you would like with this step since this can make a significant impact. You could also make a general covering letter which you can use with any application.

Approaching the employers..
The best way I see on approaching employers is to make your CV public on popular job boards. I will make a list of this later. Okey you have uploaded your CV but that's not enough! Regularly search for the opportunities which match your skills and criteria of your own and apply directly by sending your CV, Covering letter to corresponding people. A Golden Rule - If you feel like you are having an odd CV or responses are getting low, change your layout/format/content or anything immediately you think should be updated, doing will make it a fresh CV on the job boards which then will come up again for agencies and employers. Remember not to overdo this since that will result on you as a bad candidate.

Some valuable attributes..
professional email address, working mobile number which you carry always, create a linkedin profile and attach to your CV, professional layout

Hope this will help. You get the call, half of the job is done and then it is in your hands.

Happy Hunting

Samsung to go another step forward?

Samsung seems to be releasing their first phone in 2012 and yet another innovation.
image reference: (www.dailymail.co.uk, 2012)
This is a sample image of the phone which is having an amazing flexible OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diaode) display. They are about to break the initial thoughts we normally get when someone says the words "mobile display or screen" which is the legacy rectangular display. This technology has come to the world even before and limited number of people have seen them on latest tech shows. Both Sony and Samsung have presented flexible displays in such occasions but yet to come to the commercial arena. Okey the concept is cool, innovative and tempting but One question;
Why do you need a flexible display and what do you use it for?
